Coulsdon Osteopathic Clinic are pleased to welcome Valentina Buscemi to the team. Valentina will be starting her Mindful Movement classes in November.
Valentina qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2006 and is now a Chartered Physiotherapist according to the Health Care Professions Council in the UK and Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. She completed an MSc in Neurorehabilitation at Brunel University of London in 2013 and earned a Doctorate Degree at Western Sydney University in 2019. In the same year, she qualified as a Meditation and chair Yoga Teacher in Sydney. Whilst living in Italy, she worked as a musculoskeletal and neuro-physiotherapist. In the UK, she worked as a Specialist Physiotherapist in the NHS, at the Pain Management Unit of Guy’s and St Thomas Hospital in London, where she trained as a psychologically informed physiotherapist in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for chronic pain management.
In the last few years, she has concentrated her studies and clinical work around the field of pain management. In addition to this, she is passionate about sharing with the broader community her knowledge around mindfulness meditation and mindful bodywork with the aim to foster well-being within a body-mind approach.
Mindful movement classes
Each class includes mindful meditation practice, guided mindful movement and mat Yoga movements, breath awareness work, free flow movement and reflection (voluntary) at the end of the classes depending on time. Valentina offers a block of three classes that cannot be purchased individually, as different mindfulness skills and concepts are taught during each class.
